What Is Your Favorite Bible Verse? (Seriously, tell me what it is!)

Happy Friday! I want to shoot for at least 30 verses here, so please leave a Bible verse!

What is your favorite Bible verse(s)? Do you have it memorized?

My favorite passage is:

Romans 12: 1-2

A Living Sacrifice

 1 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

    Hard to pick, but here’s one favorite: 2 Cor. 5:17-21…v. 21 says “God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”

    Since I became a follower of Jesus I have had many, countless favorite verses with one of them being 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, which states, “Be joyful always, pray continually, and give thanks in everything, for it’s God’s will for you in Jesus.” However, over this Christmas break, in between semesters, I went to Passion Conference in Atlanta and this passage from Ephesians 6:19-20 hit me like a sack of bricks.

    “Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.”

    Paul doesn’t ask to be freed from these earthly chains, rather to be given the words so that when he talks to people, he fearlessly proclaims the Truth, the Gospel, our Savior, WHILE being in a roman jail cell! I’m not here to preach a sermon, so I’ll end it right there, but I encourage whoever reads this comment to take this passage of Scripture and make it a prayer for themselves and for all followers of Jesus as we live our lives.

    I don’t think I really appreciated this verse as a young person, full of energy. Now that I am getting older, I think I appreciate it more!

    Wow! i love both verses! I love the idea of fearless coupled with “mystery”! It magnifies the point that we can’t do it on our own power! Thanks, T!

    One of my personal favorites:

    Joshua 1:9:
    Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.

    But there are so many. I mean, I must truthfully say my favorite Bible Verse is Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21.

    Another favorite of mine is the beginning of John, which I see was posted below.

    Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ”
    and John 16:4 “Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
    They remind me that i can always rely on God :)

    So many … but one my favorite has to be 23 Psalm verse 1…

    “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want…”

    The promise of filling all our needs, we just need to follow and be faithful ~

    By the way, I randomly opened my Bible this morning to your favorite verse..I had to read it twice – it felt so new to me….

    My favorite verse changes from time to time but the two I really really like are Romans 8:37-39 and Isaiah 25:8-9.

    My favorite verse is:

    Eph. 3:20 “Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly and above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.”

    This verse has empowered me for a long time to remember that God is able to do something significant out of what looks insignificant to me or others. The only thing He wants me to do is walk in my purpose.

    I have many but one came to me tonight, Psalms 139. This really shows a great picture of who god really is and how he plays such an important role in one’s life. This came to me at the perfect moment when I was looking for a verse to show me God is with me at this very moment. I went looking in pslams and fliped through when I found this.
