Favorite places to eat out? Friday Fun!

Ok, I just had a Philly Cheese-steak from Concord Pike Steak Shop in Concord, PA. Whenever we visit PA it is one of Rachel and my favorite places to eat. (Nowadays we try to split a cheese-steak, so sad)  We are also big fans of Italian Delight in Broomall, PA.

What I would really like is to see a really long list of favorite local restaurants, small or large, from all over the place!

1. Name of Restaurant: No fast-food chains please! No, not even Chick-Fil-a Or In & Out Burger!

2. Location: Let’s see if we can get all over the world with this one.

3. Favorite thing on the menu:  Just one-Ok, two if you must.

    Elaine,
I love me some crab imperial! Next time I’m in Phoenixville I am there!

Seven Stars on Route 29 near Phoenixville/ It’s a fine dining place, but the food is outrageously good and the portions are HUGE! I love the stuffed shrimp with crab imperial and their seafood bisque. Another really good place is Jenny’s Diner in Lancaster on Route 30 right before Rockvale Outlets.

I can help with this one. Jamie Oliver’s resturant in London, Fifteen, one of the best meals I have ever had in my life. Suffed squash flowers were AMAZING!! Eindhoven Holland. There was this place down the street from us simply called, Steak and Seafood. Really that was the name. It was in the building that was wicked old and they had the BEST goats cheese on custini salad, I had it at least once a week for the 6 weeks we were there. Hmmmmm, where eles. We lived in switzerland and there was a french cafe by lake geneva, can’t remember the name, but they had chili prawns over rice with a cold glass of kir royal……yummy. I have tired over and over to re-create it, never the same. Here in saratoga springs, I will have to go with Chianti as a favorite. Simple pasta of angle hair, cherry tomato;s, and Olive oil. and clams in white wine with a great glass of chardonnay……OH no, now I am starving…lol!!!

    Shannon,
That cheesesteak I just ate seems so… Plain! Great recommendations! Now I’m hungry too with a craving for stuffed Squash…. Do you think Jamie Oliver’s in London delivers to Chads Ford?

The Reading Terminal Market in Philly has something for everyone.
Ponzios in Cherry Hill, NJ is a great Diner with that old school diner feel.
And the Station Taproom in Downingtown, PA is a great place with great food for the meat eater as well as those who don’t embrace red meat…

Great suggestions! Market Street station is fantastic! I don’t really understand the whole non-meat thing, but that’s ok!

Anyone headed down to the sunshine state via 95… YOU MUST stop off at the GA Pig Brunswick, GA is unlike anything you will in the North. It is no bigger than a one bedroom apt. However the pulled pork, sweet tea, and all the side dishes are… everything is great there. YOU cannot go wrong stopping at the GA Pig!

Jerrys Seafood, Fish On, are two of our favorites here at the beach in Lewes. Best seafood and margaritas ever.
Striper Bites is good as is Irish Eyes……
Up home in Kennett, Gran Rodeo at Painter’s Crossing has the best Mexican around

Ooh, good topic…locally, I’m a huge fan of Chef Geoff’s. Three locations (though their Tysons spot is the newest) and I’m a big fan of their burgers and seafood. Had the rockfish special last time and they do a $6 burger night on Monday and Tuesday.

If you’re traveling south, though, you’ve got to check out the 2nd Street Bistro in Williamsburg. Totally stumbled on it when Lindsey and I were headed to Busch Gardens and it’s a keeper! Attentive service, fantastic bison meatloaf and Lindsey *loved* the risotto “patty” served on a sandwich roll. Surprisingly affordable and definitely worth a stop.
