You Have Been Created With A Purpose! Do You Remember What It Is? (Caine’s Arcade)

I know I am dreadfully behind on this video, and most of you have seen it, but I couldn’t resist.

Do you remember when you were a kid and anything was possible?

Do you remember what you wanted to be?

When did you stop identifying yourself as an artist or a creative?

Has your dream died?

Do you believe that God can redeem that dream? He can!

Maybe He has a new dream?

Maybe that was the plan all along?

Do you believe that God has made you with special gifts and talents? He has!

Did you see how proud Caine’s father was of him? Do you believe that God is proud of you? He is!

How long has it been since you talked with God about your gifts, and how you could use them to bless God and others?

Matthew 18

18 At that time the disciples came to Jesus and asked, “Who, then, is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?”

He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.

“Children live in a world of dreams and imagination, a world of aliveness… There is a voice of wonder and amazement inside all of us; but we grow to realize we can no longer hear it, and we live in silence. It isn’t that God stopped speaking; it is that our lives became louder.”

WOW .. This is great work my friend. Funny as I draw closer to God I am just now starting to know what the dream he has for me is. God wants so much more for me then I even want for myself. As I align my will with his it get stronger each day, and fades in the days I take my own will back; either way God honors my choice he is so faithfull. The only time I thought my dreams had died were the moments I was being “sick in self”. I am starting to realise that He has created a dream just for me, the key to it is if I will do the work ??

I think you said it all when you said, “I think God wants more for me than I want for myself.” Man, you are right on with that, my friend. I have been spending much time trying to be with God long enough to understand and BELIEVE that truth to the point where it affects my actions! Thanks, Tony!

Thanks for this post Barry, I totally needed it! God is SOOO sovereign! It was a super cool and refreshing post! I love how genuine Caine is in the video. I know I’m only 17 but I feel like our generation is heavy on being accepted by others, even if that means sacrificing of our God given uniqueness. It was really cool to see Caine have such a pure childlike ambition and I really love how you related that to us! I’m so encouraged by the truth that God wants to and will redeem our dreams and how things really change when we stop working for God and start working with God.

Wow, that’s a really cool video; I hadn’t seen it before. I don’t keep up with viral videos. Feel free to post them for me! :D lol

Yes this post helped me too, thanks for posting.

I think no matter how long you have been a believer, you always need to remember we are created for a purpose: His purpose.

Amen. I know God has given each person different gifts and passions. I think it’s important to find, develop, and use our talents to advance the Kingdom of God. Great post.

  • Barry Hill

    Thanks Dan,
I think developing those talents is a life long task—which is why blogs like yours are so important! I wouldn’t say that my talents are different than when I was little, but I would say they are more defined as I get older.

  • Barry Hill

Sometimes we, I know I do, wander in the desert a little wondering what that purpose is. I wonder if we are quite long enough, still long enough, to really find out what we have been created for? What kind of journey God wants to tell with our stories.

    Thanks Thad!

  • Dan Black

I totally agree with you. It’s funny because before I read your comment I was writing about developing your talents being a life long process in an eBook I’m writing.

    Great post topic.

  • Barry Hill

Yes! I would love to read that e-book! Let me know when it’s coming out! For Sure!

  • Dan Black

I’m still writing the first draft but will let you know when it’s out.

I hadn’t seen or heard of Caine’s Arcade before but, on a Sunday evening, it was worth a view. I dropped by your place because I’m working on a post inspired by your blog’s name. I’ve always found your title, The Ordained Barista, both memorable and intriguing.
